Arve Henriksen is without doubt one of Norway’s leading instrumentalists. Inspired by an eclectic range of sounds from Mongolian overtone singing, Balinese gamelan to the shakuhachi flute, Arve has a distinctive and atmospheric trumpet sound. Combining this with a mastery of subtle electronics and a voice like a choir boy, Arve creates utterly captivating performances. His first ECM album as a leader will be released 10 November 2008.
