London Sinfonietta
The 09/10 season at Southbank Centre opens with John Adams conducting the ensemble for the first time in 6 years in an eclectic snapshot of American contemporary and experimental music. The programme features the UK premiere of Adams’ Son of Chamber Symphony, European premiere of Paul Dresher’s Concerto for Violin and Electro-Acoustic Band, plus works by John Cage and David Lang (27 Sep, Queen Elizabeth Hall). Steve Reich plays with the London Sinfonietta for the first time in a performance of Music for 18 Musicians on 31 October in the Royal Festival Hall.
