'A brilliant, versatile improviser whose language spans electronica, jazz and contemporary classical, and transports the listener to a land beyond borders of country or genre'
- The Guardian
Norwegian jazz trumpeter Arve Henriksen presents an expansive, ethereal performance of music from his 2013 release Places of Worship, joined by long-term collaborators Jan Bang, Eivind Aarset and visual artist Anastasia Isachsen.
Taking inspiration from religious buildings and ruins, Places of Worship is largely improvised. While Bang and Aarset craft sparse, shifting soundscapes from guitars and electronics, punctuated by Henriksen’s trumpet flourishes, Isachsen uses specially-designed lighting and video projected onto the venue walls, the visuals shifting in time with their playing, taking you far beyond the building.
